Todd Goode, consulting forester, has 30 years of experience in different facets of the timber industry.
Todd was raised on his family's dairy farm in Bedford County, VA. He was an outdoors lover from birth, interested in nature, wildlife, hunting and conservation. He managed timber and wildlife on his family's farm since his teenage years and attended Virginia Tech in the College of Agriculture.
Upon graduating from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry, he went to work for a local land surveyor/civil engineer. Here he learned much about property lines, subdividing land, deed research and soils.
After surveying he worked 22 years as a Procurement Forester for a hardwood sawmill in Bedford, Virginia. Here he kept as many as 5 logging crews harvesting timber he had purchased for the mill. He bought timber tracts of all sizes from numerous landowners learning firsthand about timber management, landowner goals and logging. He also gained valuable experience with the value of different species of pulpwood, logs and lumber.
From being employed by the sawmill he went into procurement for a logging company. He gained more experience in purchasing timber from landowners and harvesting a variety of species of timber on different terrains. He also directed spraying and planting operations for the reforestation of Loblolly Pine on tracts throughout south central Virginia.
In 2019 he started Goode Forestry Consulting under his Goode Land and Timber banner, where he can put his experience to work for you, the landowner.
